I'm going to start a new hashtag to show cases where universities or journals have been notified of severe (image) concerns years ago, but have not taken any action. I will name and shame, because it's frustrating and maddening. #IntegrityInertia
In this first installment, @tandfonline's journal @CancerBiologyTx and @PennMedicine were notified November 2020, but no action was taken. The vice dean reprimanded me for not providing context. He told me these could just be errors. 😠 pubpeer.com/publications/8… #IntegrityInertia
This is what the vice dean of @PennMedicine wrote me: What do you think? AITA?
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine “serial sections of histograms”? 🤔
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine NTA, as usual 😎
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine I think that’s some industrial grade gaslighting by the dean.
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine NTA! Liz you rock.👍👍👍❤️
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine Lol! Nothing suspicious about exact duplicates. I’m sure they happen all the time naturally 😀
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine Definitely NTA
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine ... I think that they need to wear new glasses
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine ah yes, @PennMedicine, that bastion of scientific integrity pubpeer.com/publications/6…
@MicrobiomDigest @PennMedicine Haha I love the "scientific context" - and now I am depressed because that should not make me laugh in the first place.
