Mide Popoola @MidePopoola

Today at Lagos House, Marina, I witnessed the signing of three power purchase agreements designed to build on existing capacity and address what has not been working. Fenchurch Power will support our major water facilities in Adiyan and Iju. Mainland Power will continue serving Ikeja, Oshodi, and Anthony, with room for expansion. Viathan will maintain stable power supply to key facilities on the Island as we strengthen its integration with the distribution network. We have updated these agreements to reflect current market realities. We will no longer pay for power that is not delivered. Payments are now tied to actual, metered supply, helping us reduce waste and manage costs more effectively. This means more reliable power for public infrastructure, better use of state resources, and a clear path to scale capacity over the next few years.

Sub-Saharan Africa is not moving in one direction in 2026. Kenya strong. Nigeria recovering. Ghana slowing. South Africa improving. Winners study countries individually, not as one market. Tap the link below to download our new Outlook Report. #LEAF

Africa’s stock markets are no longer a “future opportunity.” They are outperforming global benchmarks right now — with returns in Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, and Zambia beating some of the world’s biggest indices.

On this special day, we celebrate the dedication, resilience and love of every mother and mother figure in our lives; the world is a better place because of the sacrifices that you make. Happy Mother’s Day. #mothersday #powersector #naturalgas #CNG

Our pains are valid, our course is our right. We should keep exercising our rights, we should remain focus on our objectives and in the same light stand for the truth.

@marchenprinz_ I couldn’t have imagined that I haven’t seen it all in Nigeria. This broke me.

Dear young citizen, it is time to activate the STOP button and to switch online. Please go home. We appeal to the government to restrain security forces from shooting at citizens protesting peacefully and to give them time to go to their homes. #ENDSARS

Love and Solidarity to all my Nigerian brothers and sisters who are standing for civil and human rights. You are made in Gods image and should be treated as such.

FG accepting the 5/5 demand is a good step in the right direction. We need timelines and timely progress report #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria #EndSARSNow

The countries from where they brought Christianity to Nigeria celebrated Christmas with uninterrupted power supply. Some of us were quarelling over whether eating Christmas chicken will make us go to heaven or not. Sense will "fall on us" one day. I pray it won't be long.

"Just be kind, open your heart. ... That's what we need in this world." When a boy with autism was overwhelmed on the first day of school, another little boy held his hand. The moment was captured in a photo that's gone viral. cnn.it/32kzZzQ

One of the leadership principles I learnt came from the Australian Cricket team. They in turn got it from their armed forces moral code: "The standard you walk past is the standard you accept." Whatever you see and don't correct, it means you have accepted it as the culture.

I’ve watched and listened as NIGERIA is constantly labeled wrongly. Should the conduct of a few Nigerians be used to label our entire nation? Aren’t we a nation of almost 200 million people? How can a few thousands or even hundred of thousands determine our collective IDENTITY?

@sam_adeyemi @TheTarmilore During America's great depression, newly elected president, Franklin Roosevelt, made frequent radio broadcasts about his plans to Americans and progress made so far on several areas. The Americans found great comfort in this and it uplifted spirits. Nigerians truly need this.

The wait will eventually be more costly... in addition, I’d say that there is also the need for us to develop a culture that encourages the patronage of authentic and valuable home based innovations.

On no.1 ie Innovation - we need a more centralised approach to this because we can't wait till 2050 when we are about 400 million people to figure out how to feed, transport, power, etc ourselves. We need new or adapted technology that works for us that factors this future.
