@bnielson01 @whignewtons A 'decision' is our best prediction that we will feel good in the future. Remove the ability to feel, and we cannot decide. In a culture of criticism you get social credit (good feelings) for good valid criticism.

@bnielson01 @whignewtons Bruce, I loved this episode. Regarding Damasio's decision-making linked to emotions. The best way to understand this is to appreciate the neo-cortex as a prediction engine - it predicts what we see, hear, touch - but more importantly it predicts how we will *feel*

@IonaItalia It should scare you. As Nassem Taleb notes, driving is the ultimate example of 'skin in the game'. You could cause a crash but it's not likely to go well for you. That's why our streets are as safe as they are.
