The charity which was raided by Gardai and the Charity Regulator on Tue/Wed, with Rolex watches, Louis Vuitton luxury leather goods and two BMW X5 valued at €250,000 It's Liberties Recycling Training and Development CLG, also known as Liberty Recycling, a registered charity which receives around €400,000 a year from the taxpayer. It collects unwanted goods, mostly clothing, sells them in its shops and to wholesalers overseas, and uses the proceeds to help people with difficult backgrounds, particularly in addiction to get skills and work experience and build their lives. Most of its €3.6m income comes from its sales. One of its principals is SF TD Aengus O'Snodaigh, who states he is chairperson and secretary, and is also a director of a related private company (without charity status, despite his claim in the Oireachtas register) Liberty (sic) Global Exports Company Limited by Guarantee. Note, there is no allegation of wrongdoing at this time against Aengus O'Snodaigh. Other principals include Philip Moloney, Tony Geoghegan of Merchants Quay fame and Gabriel Kinahan.
