As hard as today is, it can also be a time for hope. Every year on this day, students from @GeorgetownCR @GUCollegeDems & @BipartisanHoyas come together to plant about 3000 flags on campus in memory. Many of these students were infants or not yet born on 9/11/01. #NeverForget
Yesterday, I led a conversation with about 40 students about legacy of 9/11. I shared my memories, as did @GUPolitics fellows @IAmAmnaNawaz @rorycooper & @cmclymer. The students shared what the day meant to them. The conversation was raw, emotional & powerful. #NeverForget
@MoElleithee @GeorgetownCR @GUCollegeDems @BipartisanHoyas Fellow Hoya here, Sir. Today is not hard — for us, we, here, are fortunate. I admire the resolve as well as the gesture.
@MoElleithee @JonahDispatch @GeorgetownCR @GUCollegeDems @BipartisanHoyas St Louis: Washington Univ students planted 2977 flags in memoriam--so a protester uprooted them and stuffed them all into trash bags yaf.org/news/student-s…
@MoElleithee @DanaPerino @GeorgetownCR @GUCollegeDems @BipartisanHoyas What a grand gesture!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸😊❤️
@MoElleithee @GeorgetownCR @GUCollegeDems @BipartisanHoyas Amen and amen!
@MoElleithee @JohnJHarwood @GeorgetownCR @GUCollegeDems @BipartisanHoyas A very appreciative and constructive post: Plant 3000 🌳 and attach the flags to them?
@MoElleithee @GeorgetownCR @GUCollegeDems @BipartisanHoyas I don't do a solemn remembrance on 9/11. I think it lets the terrorists win all over again. Instead I do something good: plant a tree, help someone, etc.
