Stop press. Energy prices to rise for some in January, especially those who prepay or pay on receipt of bills mse.me/3XGIwe6
@MoneySavingExp The price increases this year are legalised theft. Simply unaffordable for anybody on a low income without the subsidy. x.com/keveen2/status…

@MoneySavingExp Why do they keep punishing those on pre-payment meters, when some who have to have them because they are already struggling with their energy bills? Absolutely disgraceful. The sooner a social tariff comes in for those on low income, the better.
@MoneySavingExp It’s always been the same... how come people on prepayment meters are paying more?
@MoneySavingExp I pay bills upon receipt, so it'd be best to set up DD to avoid paying extra from January?
@MoneySavingExp Marin stated that the increase in January would be very little however received an email stating my economy night rate is going up by over 18% and daytime rate by over 4%
@MoneySavingExp I’m in a small social housing 1 bed flat with storage heaters, two are on at 19 and 18 degrees and my bill will increase by about £45 per month. I pay by direct debit and have a large credit. Surely according to your statement this cannot be right.
@MoneySavingExp What you are saying does not make sense. Provider has increased my cheap@rate, I’m on economy 7 by over 18% and my daytime rate by over 4% from January 2023. Small social housing 1 bed flat. I pay by direct debit and have a large credit which they will not let me take out.
