Let’s discuss “Trust” in the Nigerian Real Estate Space. Does it exist? Between the government and the private sector? Between investors and developers? Between brokers and potential clients? It doesn’t and it’s unfortunate. Our market is unregulated, the land use act? A weapon fashioned against us. Unchecked power to do and undo leaves all titles open to litigation. Our banks no longer accept even C of O title holding properties as collateral for loans. What is the solution? Regulation and Compliance. An amendment to the land use act that empowers the governors and FCT minister to manage land administration. We must rebuild trust in the system for us to achieve true value, eliminate false valuation, reduce fraud, and boost investor confidence. Titles must be impeccable. A database has to exist for national security purposes and most importantly… There must be regulations to follow by all players in the industry. What’s your take?

It is to illuminate the mind so that it can get out of the bond and grind of ignorance and poverty. Don't confuse education with training.
