If possible, ask kids what they want feedback on before providing any. It's honestly a game-changer for the feedback. Make it simple. My students often just leave a comment on their work with one thing to celebrate and one question for me. It changes the dynamic completely.

@Mr_Rablin @Angela_Watson I did this as a parent as well. "Mom, can you read this for me?" became a far more intentional and metacognitive process.
