Rather interesting convo with GP yesterday. GP: Well, your sx are definitely not related to your thyroid Me: So what do you think is the problem? GP: I hv no idea! But your bloods look OK Me: I see I have raised monocyte ct. What does that mean? GP: Oh! We ignore that.
@MrsProctor2010 This is the tension The white bloods look like they are still responding to something but it may just be them being cranky Then GPs don't see anything wrong This is immunological. And in the UK minimisation in medicine is thwarting investigation
@MrsProctor2010 It’s great that they ignore stuff like this 🙄🙄
@MrsProctor2010 Peanut can you ask for a TPO antibody test to check for AAbs? I had to request from my gp, but it gave me my Hashimoto’s dx
@MrsProctor2010 😒 sounds too familiar! I had raised CK levels and ESR with muscle weakness but now levels have gone down so it must be FND 😡
@MrsProctor2010 Monocytes typically make up a relatively small percentage of your white blood cells. Typical percentage range is 2 — 8% (100 to 700 per mm3, or cells per cubic millimeter). Monocytosis MIGHT mean your body is responding to something inflammatory or infection.
@MrsProctor2010 They are ignoring so much at this point it's pathological
