12 yrs after its creation, JFCOM was shuttered and the responsibilities were moved to the Joint Staff. Let’s try to learn from that failure.

The US Army may not find itself fight a conventional war in Lat. Amer., but there will always be a role the Army plays in the area in one form or another. As far as being preoccupied with EUR and Asia, some could say that, but the better question is how do we balance our focus?
Spending time with Dr. Evan Ellis this morning to learn about Latin American Security Dynamics to gain a Historical Perspective. How important is Latin America to U.S. Security? Has the US been too preoccupied with Europe and Asia? Should the US spend more time focusing on LA?

@jameskgreer77 Key being they learned from it and rapidly adjusted. They didn't achieve the decisive victory in '73 that they had in '67, but they also weren't necessarily defeated at the tactical level. They did arguably lose the strategic fight. However, gaining peace with Egypt was a win.
