Hi, Spring fans! 🚀 in this episode, I enjoyed a fascinating deep dive into the future of coding with JetBrains AIR: chat-first IDE workflows, agent orchestration, spec-driven development, MCP/ACP integrations, and even AI-powered debugging with lock points, with JetBrains’ Anton Arhipov. The big takeaway? Software creation is rapidly shifting from manual coding to guided, collaborative workflows with AI. Wild stuff. #JetBrains#AI#Java#DevTools#MCP#Agentspodbean.com/pw/pbblog-zw85…

HTTP only lets the client ask the server for data first. So engineers came up with a few patterns to work around that.
1. Short Polling
Client -> "Any updates?" -> Server (every few seconds)
Dead simple, but wasteful. Most responses come back empty.
2. Long Polling
Client -> request -> Server holds it until data is ready -> response -> repeat
Fewer empty responses, but every reply needs a fresh request.
3. Server-Sent Events
Client -> one long-lived connection -> Server streams updates
One way only, with automatic reconnect. Great for live scores and feeds.
4. WebSockets
Client <--> persistent two way connection <--> Server
Both sides can send anytime. Best for chat, gaming, and collaboration.
5. Webhooks
Event happens -> Server calls your URL
Server-to-server, not to a browser. Think payment confirmations and GitHub events.
Weekend project:
Deploy your Aspire app to any Linux server with Docker using SSH + Docker Compose, with HTTPS!
→ builds
→ pushes images to ghcr
→ SSHes into your box
→ runs docker compose up
And it includes CI/CD support: generate a GitHub Actions workflow that builds + deploys on every push.
Template: github.com/davidfowl/aspi…
Perfect for small teams and VPS deployments.

Hint: Go compilers will try to view any type parameter of a generic non-interface type as a part of the identity of the non-interface type. This is not true for generic interface types.
Personally, I don't very understand the logic for the inconsistency here.
The rules of #Golang custom generics are much more complex than you think. For the f and g functions in the following code, one compiles, one doesn't.
Do you know which compiles and which not?
