@trusttv_news Just talking about opening new treatment centers neglecting the manpower needed to operate in those centers... Hmm!

@health_basicTip @ThatCruiseMedic @SirD589812 It's that simple. Always consider your current environment, make sure you know the international standard though, it's equally important.

@Yantumakii In medicolegal setting they'll forget about your low resource setting and fry you with the international standard when things go south..So coming up with formal and binded national guideline will go a long way to fasten patient diagnosis&prompt mgt n to protect yourself long term

UNDERSTANDING MEDICINE⚕️ @popoolaadaniel

I woke up this morning heavy. Sad… or maybe depressed. I’m not even sure anymore. There’s a dull confusion that comes with it, like when a word no longer fits the feeling it’s meant to describe. Imagine loathing a profession you once loved. Really loved. The kind of love that made the long nights feel meaningful. Now I catch myself irritated by patients I’m supposed to care for, supposed to sit with gently, supposed to understand. And that thought alone makes me hate myself a little. But empathy is hard when stress is constant and the pay is almost insulting. When your body is present and your spirit is already gone. Some days I genuinely want to go back to school. Start again. Read another course. Anything that doesn’t feel like this slow erosion of the soul. I’m tired. Not the kind of tired that sleep fixes. I’m fatigued in my bones. Then I look ahead. At our consultants. Our professors. The people we’re told to aspire to become. And it’s terrifying. They are poor. Not just financially, but in joy. In light. In peace. Unhappy. Bitter. Worn down. Sometimes it feels like they’re warnings, not role models. And I wonder quietly… is this the destination? Many doctors are depressed. We don’t say it loudly, but it’s everywhere. In the short tempers. In the dead eyes. In the dark jokes we laugh at too hard. This profession kills us daily. Not with one dramatic blow. But slowly. Methodically. Piece by piece. We're Nigerian Doctors.

There is an element of truth in this submission. People dislike us ( health workers) mostly because of how we treat them when they needed us the most— during illness. But… do they ever sit down and ponder WHY we sometimes treat them that way? As healthcare providers, we are trained to see not only the sickness, but the human present before us. So, when we come short of that, there should be an inquiry into the WHY? The long answer to that has been shared by many health professionals on the TL, but the short one is THE NIGERIAN HEALTH SYSTEM. ALL OUR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SYSTEM IS WHAT REFLECTS IN HOW WE CONDUCT OURSELVES AND CARE FOR OUR PATIENTS. Help us get the needed attention of the government to improve the system, and see how we would magically improve our relation with not only our patients, but people in general.

From the perspective of the average Nigerian, doctors are some of the most condescending individuals you can ever meet—it is why people don’t care to lend their voices to them. You have to spend time in public hospitals, away from privilege of connection to see it…

No doctors but it's the doctor's fault. Zero accountability on the part of the government. Medicine is a job not a patriotic act. Give the right pay and you'll have doctors.

“I gave approval for the appointment of 40 doctors, we only got 11” - “ There is no patriotism on the part of the doctors on their country…..” - “before women doctors don’t travel abroad, but now they do, and its one of the most unfortunate things that is happening to us” - Gov.

Dear Sir, @dikko_radda 1. Do you know that a doctor working in Katsina earns far less than a doctor working in some states like Zamfara, with almost a N150k difference? 2. Do you know that Katsina State still pays health workers a hazard allowance of five thousand naira (N5k) per month? 3. A house officer in Katsina is paid less than N200k per month compared to other places that pay more than N250k? All these, sir, are as a result of the Katsina State Government not implementing the full CONMESS salary structure for medical doctors. So, before we accuse doctors of being unpatriotic, I think the better approach is to look at how doctors and other health care professionals are being treated in Katsina. Treat them well, and see how they respond in kind.

@Nigerian_Doctor @dikko_radda @mohagirei @nard_nigeria Can you take your child to recently upgraded General Hospital Charanchi if he/she's sick? Not even FTH Katsina and you're here saying Doctors are unpatriotic. Said someone that couldn't confidently use any facility in his own state or country.
