If you had the option to have running shoes with or without laces, what would you prefer to buy right off the shelf if specs were near identical? $NKE $ONON $DECK $UA

I am seeing more and more of the laceless shoes coming out just visiting apparel stores, maybe it becomes the future?

When talking about technology in running, this is $ONON's shoe with the lightspray i mentioned a few times as the bestseller. I would like to see if $NKE has any similar tech coming out that can outdo this at investor day. on.com/en-us/products…

I think what people are failing to realize is that a majority of this sector is down (shoes, clothing, etc.). They are just looking at the big names and slamming them. The real question for me - is this the pivotal moment where it gets its wheels turning due to overcrowded names outside of the arena and capitulations like Burry.

Dip buyers stepped in again today on $NKE around $33.50, resistance held around $34.50 for a majority of the day and broke slightly higher 5 minutes before close. This closed Nike @ $34.60 for a 1.90% gain on the day. $ONON closed +3.97% $UA closed +3.61% $DECK closed +1.82%

$XLY doing some lifting here. $NKE $ONON $DECK $UA following through although Nike is the laggard of the group. Makes sense if it is truly forming a bottom here in the nearterm.

$NKE $ONON $XLY Comparing $NKE and $ONON is a head scratch in terms of volatility from ON and then just the deep decline from Nike. One other point to take into consideration is if XLY gets its wheels turning this week, this could get these both moving. If we don't get the

@TheLongInvest I get your point with Nike, but I think the way they look at deals in the future will be more critical. Losing Mbappe to $ONON was bad on their part.

Why is $NKE Sportswear taking a hit? 📉 • Cut Dunk production by ~50% to reset oversupplied channels ($200M headwind) • Slower sell-through on legacy retro models • Increased competition from Hoka, On Running, New Balance & Adidas • Double-digit drops in Greater China Nike essentially created the vacuum, and rivals aggressively seized it. Releasing shelf space allowed rivals to come in and let customers try on new things. This will be a pain point. Store like Dick's, Foot Locker, etc. now have that relationship with the new competitors. It will be absolutely critical for Nike to restructure their relationships with the external supply chain.

@valuemaverick1 Yea, agree. We live with what we are given today lol.

The more I think about Dave's comments during $NKE's earnings call, it makes sense. If the roadmap for Project Pace is ready to get rolled out, then it will take 3-6 months for it to have the launch convergence and tap into the China market and begin to get realized.

Dave Denton mentioned during their conference call for $NKE that their guidance for China is assuming that it gets worse from a balance sheet perspective for the remainder of this year before it gets better. So the question is, does it get worse before it gets better or can they

@valuemaverick1 I don't think its solely about Mbappe, but how competitors are restructuring deals and giving ownership to top level talent. I am sure Nike already knows what to do in this enviornment.

Nike’s Investor Day is next month, and the stakes couldn't be higher. If they don't show up with a dominant, visible pipeline in performance running & walking footwear, Wall Street will remain deeply skeptical. Here’s why this category is make-or-break for $NKE⬇️ 👟 The Threat of Category Killers Challengers aren't just taking crumbs, they're taking core market share: • Hoka & On: Locked down max-cushioning & lifestyle walking • Brooks & Asics: Devoured local run specialty shelf space Running is Nike's heritage halo. Lose running, lose the brand equity. 🔄 Rebuilding Wholesale Credibility Nike’s past DTC & lifestyle pivot starved specialty run stores of product. To win back shelf space at Foot Locker, Dick’s, and local run shops, Nike must show wholesale partners a multi-year pipeline of innovation they can actually sell. 🧪 It’s a Midsole War Marketing won't cut it anymore, Wall Street needs to see physical tech: • Direct responses to Hoka’s Bondi/Clifton series • Scaling premium ZoomX / ReactX foams down to high-volume $100–$140 price points • Biomechanically tuned tech for high-growth walking segments 📊 What Investors Need to See Daily Trainers: Redesigned workhorses competing with Brooks Ghost & Asics Gel-Nimbus Max-Cushioning: True comfort-first runners & walkers Super-Shoes: Next-gen carbon racers to hold the marathon podium line 🎯 Bottom Line: Financial restructurings and retro lifestyle colorways won't drive a narrative turnaround. To win back investors, Nike must physically prove on stage that its innovation engine is back on top in running and walking. What’s your take? Can Nike take back share from Hoka and On? 💬

Dip buyers stepped in again today on $NKE at @ 32.77. This closed Nike @ 33.97 for a 0.28% gain on the day. $ONON closed +3.39% $UA closed -0.44% $DECK closed +1.38%

S&P downgraded Nike's ($NKE) long-term issuer credit rating to 'A' from 'A+' while keeping a negative outlook, citing ongoing profitability erosion and a slower-than-expected business turnaround. The move reflects Nike's challenges including tariff-related cost increases on Asian imports, declining sales in Greater China, inventory issues, and loss of market share to competitors. Credit metrics have weakened with higher leverage from lower EBITDA, raising potential borrowing costs and signaling risks if revenue and brand relevance do not recover soon.

@Han_Akamatsu It could take a some quarters due to guidance, but with so many crowded trades right now; the value was there for me. The markets forward looking.

$NKE The Kobe 10 Protro ‘Blue Lagoon’ is back. $NKE $ONON Kylian Mbappé officially leaving Nike when his contract expired on July 31 and launching with On in September signals a massive shift in sports marketing: 1⃣ Legacy giants built empires on flat-fee royalty checks. But on a roster crowded with dozens of global icons (CR7, LeBron, Travis Scott), even generational talents hit a hard ceiling on long-term enterprise value. 2⃣ Modern mega-stars no longer want standard sponsorship checks. They want co-ownership. Following Roger Federer’s blueprint, Mbappé turned down Nike to take a direct equity stake in On alongside direct input into product development. 3⃣ Co-ownership changes the dynamic entirely: • Alignment: You own a piece of the upside you create. • Product Autonomy: Direct input on tech (testing On’s spray-on LightSpray boots) alongside leaders like Thierry Henry. • Category Building: Anchor an entirely new football division from day one. 4⃣ Challenger brands are capitalizing on this. By offering equity over flat cash, they are pulling tier-one talent away from legacy duopolies that refuse to share ownership. The playbook has changed: Elite athletes don't just want to represent a brand they want to own it. This is where Nike really has to rethink its strategy.
