March made one thing clear: peer-to-peer @Solanapayments on @Solana are accelerating fast. Here is what stood out in March: → Peer-to-peer (P2P) volume hit $192.8B (+24% MoM), a new monthly ATH. Transactions also crossed 11M (+23%). Both size and usage are scaling together (h/t @Dune) → Micropayments are hitting new highs. Over 5.8M transactions ($0.50 to $100) were processed, a new ATH, with volumes reaching their second highest level on record. Micro payments are not just active, they are scaling → Retail payments are also breaking out on Solana. Transfers ($100 to $1K) crossed $1B for the first time, with transactions climbing to a new peak. Stablecoins on Solana are moving into everyday usage → Salary sized transfers ($1K to $20K) are also gaining momentum. They processed $3.7B, a 24% increase from the prior month while salary payment transactions surged 58% to a hit monthly record. Salary payouts are becoming more frequent → Larger flows are scaling alongside with business payments (>$20K) generating $187B, a new ATH. Transactions also increased, showing continued growth in large value settlement → New use cases for stablecoins are picking up too. For years, I've complained internally at the EF that we do not have enough expertise at p2p: we think a lot about cryptoeconomics, BFT consensus and blocks, but we take the p2p networking layer for granted. I think that's no longer true, and PeerDAS shows it. @raulvk and others at EF have done heroic work both at making PeerDAS work so smoothly, and at setting up a roadmap that increases propagation speed, resilience, and network-layer privacy at the same time. Excited to see this work keep moving forward.
