🚨VOUCHER ALERT🚨 A lot of eyeballs in Tennessee legislature are on HB390/SB191 - which could become a vehicle for school vouchers, skipping Finance Committee. The budget bill, on the House floor at 4 pm, has funding for vouchers. A GOP leader assured me recently that the bill would NOT be used for vouchers, but things can change. Next step will be watching House Calendar and Rules, which meets sometime today. HB390 needs a vote there to move to the House floor. wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/BillInfo/…
Looking at Calendar and Rules Committee composition, it likely would have votes to get to the floor. wapp.capitol.tn.gov/apps/Committee…
@NC5PhilWilliams Phil, a GOP leader assured you. Phil, you do have a humorous side don't you.
@NC5PhilWilliams @HC_Richardson Tennessee is a mess!
@NC5PhilWilliams Big Private school owners donations are paying off RIP public school education losing funding and expecting major educational cuts for all the lower scoring kids the private schools rejected and left there
@NC5PhilWilliams Keep an eye on these sneaky, slimy legislators. Vote them all out.
@NC5PhilWilliams School vouchers have been a disaster here in Ohio, I hope other states learn from our mistakes.
@NC5PhilWilliams “…a GOP leader assured me…” 😒 The one thing that *everyone* should’ve learned from the last couple of decades is that the vast majority of conservative politicians who give those assurances are lying through their teeth.
@NC5PhilWilliams Thank you for always keeping us updated.
