A6: Building relationships with students & finding ways to incorporate their interests into my teaching. Finding fun & unique ways to give students more choice to feel empowered. Also, finding more games like Emoji Pictionary to create&play #20wildcardgpde@K_T_Bee @EAlbrecht77
@EAlbrecht77 A3: Expectations has been the most challenging for me. Kindergarten is the new 1st grade and at times it is difficult to wrap my head around the rigor of Kinder but at the end of the day it is amazing how much students can learn. The PD is endless and wonderful. #20wildcardgpde
@EAlbrecht77 A3: Empowerment is the one that is most challenging. I understand the importance of providing choice and ownership over their learning, but I need to work on allowing this to happen in all content areas, not just the areas that are easy. @EAlbrecht77 @K_T_Bee#20wildcardgpde
@ktbhiggins A2: My barrier is always comparison with my teammates. It can be really intimidating to do something not only outside my comfort zone but also something outside the norm of my team. But I know being different will help my students engage even more! #20wildcardgpde
@rachelmd93 @EAlbrecht77 I love that you set aside time for students to share their successes! It is important to carve out time to celebrate even the little things!
@EAlbrecht77 A5: We are a bucket filling classroom and we use bucket filling tickets not just for helping others and being kind, but also for recognizing achievements of classmates. I also give out recognition certificates to celebrate successes.

@EAlbrecht77 A7: I think the biggest factors of being a Wild Card is the willingness to take the risk of stepping out of your comfort zone and also defying "The Joker!"

@ktbhiggins A6: I want to try some new things like Kahoot and GimKit, but also do not want to overwhelm students and parents with too many platforms. I also plan to bring in the element of choice with some assignments.

@EAlbrecht77 A3: Empowerment is the most challenging for me. I want my first and second graders to take ownership of their learning. For some students it comes more naturally than for others.

@ktbhiggins A4:My "why" is most important to me on difficult days when I need to remind myself of my purpose to keep me going.

@ktbhiggins A2: The biggest barrier within myself to being a Wild Card is that I am an overanalyzer and tend to think of all the possible things that could go wrong. I am working on trying to be more spontaneous and vulnerable to mistakes.
@EAlbrecht77 A1:Distance learning requires teachers to be in the creative zone (and likely a bit of the panic zone) to find new ways to provide instruction and meet the needs of their students. Relationship building will be key for whatever format we are in for the fall.
