Beautiful
We walk the wraith way, disturb clouds of chalk dust that curl into phantoms. Our feet are drumming summons to those who walked this ghost line before us. Lurching forward with coffin cart certainty, our route is ritual. Our route is marched amid a crowd of the dead. – #DAKilroy
Even with The Hum now silent, I still dream of it. I wake with an ache of absence. Look out across the fields with no wish higher than to hear the electric songlines again. To walk to the nearest pylon and fasten a prayer flag made from ribbon to it. – Tattoo Labyrinth Dave, 1982

Another great YAC outing this time for our #Brighton branch 🤩
On Saturday we visited Hollingbury Hillfort with @MatthewPope. We were guided around the many prehistoric earthworks, introduced to some archaeological plans and section drawings, and encouraged to visualise the prehistoric landscape around Brighton. Thanks again Matt!
All that the tide touches belongs to the ing-Under-the-Sea. My boat, my pots, myself – we are all tide-touched things. That's why I pay my tidal tithe. That's why I say I'm more for the King Below than any King Above. – Charlie Vos #VOH
Nothing as prosaic as an alternative explanation or recorded fact is ever going to shake the folkloric narrative that the closed-up, north door of an old church is the Devil's door. For when a story has a whiff of sulphur, it will always overpower history. – Dr. Michael Benn

One of the most important learnings of witchcraft is a listening of the land. Where is its song loudest? Sweetest? Which trees talk with sonorous voices? Which trees tell you secrets that you cannot ignore? The witch's inner ears are mighty. – #EmilyBanting, 1982 #Witchcraft
Let me share with you my favourite of the rare, early ‘Ladybird Series’ books. 🧵 It was published in around 1930 but the illustrations look much older. [1/7] (Artist: R James Williams)
