Snow is beginning to wind down, with amounts right around a foot for most locations, plus or minus a few inches. How much did you receive at your location? Bonus points for ruler/yardstick photos. We will get official amounts released once the snow is finished across the area.
Note: Thankfully this storm didn't produce the amounts it had the potential to, but it still produced a lot, and combined with the windy conditions it is simply not safe to travel right now. Many roads remain completely snow-covered and in some cases closed. Stay safe out there!
@NWSTwinCities 19 inches in Apple Valley. Had the table cleaned off before the snow started.
@NWSTwinCities Here is the time-lapse of nearly the full snowstorm. I started it a bit late Tuesday.
@NWSTwinCities Since 8:00 last evening. Plus 9 inches since Tuesday
@NWSTwinCities 16in in West Lakeland, that’s from yesterday afternoon. A further 4.2 on Tuesday. So yeah, not bad tbh.
@NWSTwinCities My balcony in Minneapolis says we got 5 feet if snow but I don’t think that’s right lol
@NWSTwinCities 8.5" storm total at 10:15 am Feb 23 in Prospect park near 280 and I94, which makes this barely the 2nd largest storm this season... Way overhyped. Much less water content than early Jan storm too. Measured in a lot of places to make sure 8.5" was correct.
@NWSTwinCities 12-15 overnight in Stillwater. (Multiple measurements due to drifting) This area was clear at 4 pm yesterday. About 5” Wednesday. It was definitely not overstated!
@NWSTwinCities This many flamingos worth
