Doctor Who: Wild Blue Yonder - That. Was. Incredible. I can't deny it, I can't pretend otherwise, that was *tremendous.* A total mindfuck up until the very end, and THEN ANOTHER MINDFUCK OR TWO TO SPARE. Wow.
That was easily the best episode of Doctor Who in fucking *years,* and it greatly pains me to admit that. But it really was. It felt like the best of the old times, and the REALLY old times. Horror and sci-fi and adventure all perfectly balanced. So goddamn good.
You barely have to know anything about Doctor Who to enjoy Wild Blue Yonder. It's a little bit Pixar, a little bit Douglas Adams and a little bit GODDAMN EVENT HORIZON JESUS CHRIST
So many props go to @kingsley_tom, because while the script was solid and the acting was on point, it was really the direction that brought it all together and touched the episode with the sense of the surreal it required. Applause.
I cannot even express how hard it is to do a horror story on a big white brightly lit spaceship and yet fucking hell that was *fucked.*
@Nash076 Ah wow thank you so much! All the references you mentioned - totally what I was going for!
