With the background of our current ongoing discussion about christian nationalism it's also a good example of what a good christian ruler can do, as the artistic decoration was commissioned by a prince after witnessing the sorry state the church was in.
It's from the Kaiserdom in Königslutter. Since seeing it for the first time almost exactly two years ago I regularly remember it as an example of what a prot church has the potential to be and of how the ancient christian artstyle can be used beautifully in the modern age.
Among the best of Protestant art I've seen.

Christ loved me enough to die for me when I was his enemy. This quote is contrary to the gospel. "For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life." Romans 5:10
Obviously the definition of "enemy of the Fatherland" could be abused, but so can that of everything else. By itself I do not think that "destroy enemies of the Fatherland" is contrary to the gospel, rather, if rightly understood, it springs out of christian duty to your people.
Also, I hope he does not actually expect people to not "destroy the enemies of the Fatherland". That would be like telling a Father not to "destroy" the intruder in his home threatening his family.
There's clearly *some* way in which we ought to hate the enemies of God. "Love your enemies" remains equally true. Let's be christian in a way that doesn't let the bible contradict itself
