NDC LAGOS UNVEILS TOLANI ANIMASHAUN AS DEPUTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE LAGOS, Thursday, October 8, 2026, The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Lagos State, has formally unveiled Tolani Animashaun as the party’s Deputy Governorship Candidate for the 2027 Lagos State Governorship Election, alongside the party’s Governorship Candidate, Funso Doherty. The unveiling marks the formal presentation of the NDC Lagos Governorship ticket, with the party describing the pairing as a partnership built around its stated vision of a new direction for Lagos. NDC LAGOS WOMEN LEADER CALLS FOR UNITY, URGES AGGRIEVED ASPIRANTS TO CLOSE RANKS AHEAD OF 2027 The State Woman Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Lagos State Chapter, Honourable Taiwo Jayeola, has appealed to all aggrieved aspirants who were unable to secure the Party’s tickets to accept the outcome of the internal processes and put the collective interest of the Party above personal ambitions. Hon. Jayeola made the appeal at the First General Meeting of NDC Women Leaders across Lagos State, where she called for greater unity, reconciliation and cooperation among party leaders, members, aspirants and candidates as the Party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections. The State Woman Leader expressed concern over the growing disputes arising from the selection of candidates, noting that some candidates have been dragged to court by aggrieved aspirants who feel that the Party’s decisions were not fair to them. While acknowledging the right of every member to seek redress through legitimate channels, she urged all concerned to consider the broader interest of the Party and the millions of Nigerians who look to the NDC for credible political leadership. “This is the time for us to sheathe our swords, close ranks and work together. We cannot afford to allow internal disagreements to weaken the Party or distract us from the task ahead,” she said. Hon.
