@NickBryantNY Ah yes . Because so many of the Returned Soldiers went to the Rugby League Match of the Day at the SCG or Randwick Races in the afternoon after the March. Both packed out. The sports of the common man. Or 2 Up at the pub.
@NickBryantNY Totally. On leaving the ABC on ANZAC Day evening and turning into Railway Square you’d see a heap of drunken & emotional men, medals askew … their eyes far away.
