Hearing that Jimmy G missed everything high again and it's a miracle he hasn't gotten more players injured.
@Nick_BPSS I really find myself questioning just how bad Trey Lance must look in practice.
@startkyIeorton It's hard to know because Shanahan is such a freak with personnel choices.
@Nick_BPSS yep. just the weirdest handling of a rookie QB I can remember in a while. like we know why the Dalton/Fields thing was mismanaged, Nagy's a fucking idiot. Shanahan's logic is imperceptible though
@startkyIeorton And if this were the only player I'd just chalk it up to the unknowable from the outside, which is obviously still present, but like doghousing Aiyuk and Sermon?
@Nick_BPSS well and it raises the question of why he took Lance, the ultimate project player of the entire draft class, if he apparently has *no patience whatsoever* for developing project players? If you wanted the guy who you thought could step in immediately Jones or Fields were there
@startkyIeorton @Nick_BPSS I think the idea with Lance is he’s pretty raw and playing him right away would result in disaster, I don’t know how true that is but I can see the logic. Lance was really bad in the one game he did play.
@jerry_eldred @Nick_BPSS yeah, I get that. Personally that was my take on him at draft time. But I'm a big believer that those things don't sort themselves out on the bench, if they ever do. So I kind of wonder when the kid's ever gonna get to play if he can't ride out any kind of developmental stage
@startkyIeorton @jerry_eldred I think Shanahan has even said that he needs game reps...? It's so bizarre.
@Nick_BPSS @jerry_eldred amusingly it's not unlike when his dad drafted Cutler in Denver. Everyone knew Plummer's days were numbered, Plummer played like shit bc he was always looking over his shoulder, Cutler sat though for most of the year cuz that's How It Was Done.
