Speaker McCarthy’s dream job could turn into a nightmare for the American people. To get the votes, he surrendered to demands of a fringe element of the GOP. Americans want Congress to build on the historic bipartisan achievements from the last two years, not more gridlock.

Looks like Kevin McCarthy conceded all the power of his office to the crazies to finally get their votes. He had to give away the house to do it, and that was a sacrifice he was willing to make — for the title. He will be a speaker in name only.

@SecretaryPete #Southwest says it's not subject to Department of Transportation when cancelling. This prevents passengers from pursuing their rights. Here's how they did it in Denver. No vouchers, no flights for three days at least. No compensation. They knew they didn't have staff days ago.

.@SouthwestAir took $3.7B in federal aid from 2020-21. It’s CEO got a pay raise to a $9.1M package in 2022. Yet Southwest employees are working 16 hour shifts & threatened w/termination if they refuse overtime or call in sick. Socialism for the wealthy. Capitalism for workers.

Southwest has canceled another 2,500 flights so far on Tuesday. People now find themselves stranded at airports across the country, with little idea of when they can get home or where their bags are. n.pr/3WHka3b

#SOUTHWEST NIGHTMARE: All flights leaving San Diego tonight are canceled, announcement just now over the intercom says the airline is “frozen and not able to assist with rebooking.” People are told find their bags in these piles. Several are in tears. @10News

@jsuga1161 @Steph72RN @CNN He was on point, agreed. But he was very disrespectful. I am a Don fan, but that was ridiculous.

Refreshing conversation @CNNThisMorning is not what I just witnessed. I absolutely agree w/Don Lemon in regards to Trump hosting an anti-Semite, but I was appalled at the way he attacked the last guest. So disrespectful & hostile. The news is bad enough & he made it worse.
