Does this REALLY count as an Indie Game? Like is it really INDEPENDENT if it's got the backing of a company as large as Nickelodeon? This is a genuine question, I am confused.

@NintenMessenger Bro plz just pizza towah on switch
@NintenMessenger No, it doesn't, and I'm tired of these non-indie games being called indie. People think "oh, it's not triple A, that makes it indie!" and, NO, if it's a million dollar brand tie-in game with millions of dollars backing it from one of earths biggest Mega Corp.s ITS NOT INDIE.
@NintenMessenger viacom are the ones who own the property, but it's an indie team developing the game. they're not owned by viacom or are a team within nickelodeon they just got the funding and rights to make the game. so it does still count as indie
@NintenMessenger What about Cadence of Hyrule then? That was revealed in an Indie Direct as it was made by the same people who made Crypt of the Necrodancer, but that obviously has Nintendo’s backing behind because they allowed those devs to use the Zelda IP
@NintenMessenger If it still develop by a small, not well known company, I fo think it still counts
