When a slaveowner strikes a male or female slave with a rod & the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished. But if the slave survives a day or two, there is no punishment. Exodus 21:20-21 How anyone can support/promote the Bible is beyond my moral comprehension.
@NoHolyScripture It’s so funny when Christians desperately try to downplay or rationalize these despicable passages from scripture. Their favorites are “out of context”, “it was a different time”, “being a slave had a different meaning in those days”, “that part is from man, not god” etc.
@NoHolyScripture That's because YOUR sense of morality is subjective and sinful whereas GOD'S sense of morality is objective and perfect. 🙄
@NoHolyScripture Bible is a rule book for tyrants. biblegateway.com/passage/?searc…
@NoHolyScripture So morally, that actually means if you want to murder someone, try to control your anger and make sure they don't die on the same day. That sort of thing is reserved for the king, and god. Apologies, my translation may be a little rusty. But that's basically it. 🖖
@NoHolyScripture that point shows how attached to its time are the writings compiled in the christian bible - reason enough to re-think it . . .
