Today I'm launching one of the coolest NPC systems I've ever created, powered by Roblox's built-in AI text generation model discussed at RDC. Our hibachi chefs can have full conversations with their NPC customers, with context about the game and their own decisions. The NPCs know the foods on the menu and the tricks the chefs are doing, and will reply to any message the chef says to them. Conversations are fully filtered, shown only to one player, and only work for age-verified users with chat access, giving users who can't talk between age groups another way to enhance the serving experience in our game. Check it out! 👇

@LegendOJ1_RBLX @exclusible @elfcosmetics Congrats Owen!!

Earlier this month we launched Run a Store 🛍️ - a take on the old business sim games that I used to love playing. Always wanted to make one but never had an idea that interested me enough to pursue. Super proud of the traction it's gaining already! 🚀 roblox.com/games/10149222…

@Mafalda3p0rbx How do u even sign up for it

@syo1386 165 and im legit 48.... (idk how to gain weight...)

@LegendOJ1_RBLX Only in Kohaú <3

got a report about this in my game and scrambled thinking I had a backdoor - turns out it was a roblox bug that allowed people to run server-side code. had no idea how to fix it absolutely insane the sight of this monkey was in my nightmares 😭

This is absolutely unacceptable, Roblox. This is EXTREMELY dangerous. Exploiters have figured out how to execute server-side Luau and modify Datastore - with Loadstring disabled? This can cause irreparable damage and material loss to thousands of games. The engineer

Hello, students! We're happy to announce a giveaway for 3 Castle Heart Suites! 💖🏰 This dorm template holds a special place in our hearts, as it was the final build created by Vioncii before their passing. The Castle Heart Suite is available for purchase in game, with proceeds benefiting the Trevor Project. We know not everyone is able to purchase this special template, so members of the dev team have donated the cost of the three dorm templates we'll be giving away. We hope this giveaway gives a few more students the chance to enjoy a build that means so much to our team. More details/form: forms.gle/U2CbUgxWPWk6SQ…

Dear Royale High community, There’s no easy way to say this, and it breaks our hearts to share that our beloved developer, Vioncii, has tragically passed away following an accident. We also want to sincerely apologize for our delayed response. This has been an incredibly painful loss to process, and we wanted to respect Vi’s family’s wishes while also giving our team the time and space to grieve. This loss is impossible to put into words. Vioncii was not only an incredibly talented developer, but also a bright light within our community and someone whose passion, creativity, and kindness touched so many lives. Their impact on Royale High goes far beyond the game itself, and their legacy will never be forgotten and will live on in the hearts of our community. To honor Vioncii, we are working on something special in game, and the proceeds from it will be donated to a charity in their memory. Vioncii will always be a part of Royale High. Thank you for your kindness and understanding.

I'm tired. The past year of constant negativity from Roblox and everything surrounding it has taken a huge toll on me mentally. It feels like every other week Roblox is shooting themselves in the foot and getting further and further away from the game I fell in love with 10 years ago. Roblox is basically my job, and it’s the box I’ve put myself in content wise, but I’ve started having conversations with my team about what the future looks like. I’m seriously considering making a big push into GTA 6 content when it drops, and potentially using it as an off-ramp into more mature content.

This is the biggest thing that makes PLS DONATE and other games like it good for the platform. Reactions + cool VFX are incentives for YouTubers and devs to donate to fans, which keeps Robux on-platform (where Roblox takes percentage cuts of these transactions). These reactions cannot not matched by paying group funds or just buying the gamepass off their profile. It can be argued that Roblox is right to crack down on those profiting off middle-manning Robux transactions, but I feel it is unfair for Roblox to change their stance after years of promoting PLS DONATE and Starving Artists as "excellent" games. In reality, this is probably going to cause people to break the rules more often by paying group funds rather than donating via games like PLS DONATE. I know many talented artists who enjoyed Starving Artists as a place to make cool artwork and earn small Robux amounts from it. Lots of job roleplaying games also have a "tips" feature where people can "tip" their staff Robux for serving them. The middle-ground here is to remove the cap on Robux donations with Plus. Games advertise Plus to access these features -> win-win for Roblox + players. Whilst this still doesn't solve the fact that you would need to have Plus to donate in the first place, I think most YouTubers/Devs could justify paying $5 a month for this perk. The biggest killer is that it's capped at 1K Robux per month, making the feature virtually useless as a replacement for games like PLS DONATE.

@haz3m_ PLS DONATE gives a huge incentive for devs like myself to donate. Seeing players’ live reactions in-game and during server-wide events makes all the difference. Roblox takes a 30% cut per transaction, but with the API it’s 0%. Feels like they’re shooting themselves in the foot?

Over the weekend we announced Saki's Sushi Bar, our new sister group to our existing Japanese restaurant game Kohaú. It's a similar style but appeals more to the audience that likes chill games with less strict rules and hierarchy-based promotion systems. Hopefully we can build a community who loves worker roleplay but never wants to worry about attending trainings or grinding for promotions. Launches May 16th! 🔥 discord.gg/saki
