Nine years ago this month, JPMorgan's CEO called Bitcoin "a fraud" and said he'd fire any trader who touched it. A month later, reporters found his bank had been quietly building blockchain tech the whole time. By January, he said he regretted the comment.
My favorite near-miss in Bitcoin's history: April 2012, a soft fork (P2SH) activated on just 55% miner support. The other 45% kept mining blocks the network now rejected as invalid — for months. Every soft fork since needs 95%. Same rule, still standing 14 years later.
14 years of silence, then this: a wallet mined in 2012 at $8 a coin moved 600 BTC two days ago — $51.9M, a 1,063,304% gain, no note attached. It's one of dozens of decade-old wallets waking up in clusters this year. Nobody knows why. What would make you finally move?
Crypto's face for every red candle has a strange backstory. "Wojak" means "soldier" in Polish. It surfaced on a Polish imageboard in 2009, got its name on a German forum in 2010, then 4chan built it into "I know that feel bro" by 2011. Nobody's said who drew it.

There's a bitcoin bounty that pays out the moment SHA-256 breaks. In 2013 a dev locked coins in a script anyone can claim — just supply two inputs that hash to the same thing. MD5 fell. SHA-1 fell in 2017, claimed within hours. SHA-256's is still sitting there.
