Me, a wheelchair user: “Can you move your car? You’re blocking the bus stop.” Driver: “I’ll move when the bus comes.” Me: “That’s too late. The bus won’t be able to get to the stop.” Driver: “Then call the police.” Access for disabled people is not determined by the excluder.

It should be noted that as @CDCDirector says she’s “encouraged” that only those with preexisting conditions (disabilities) are the ones dying, she also knows full well that Black, indigenous and POC have been hit hardest. Just putting that into perspective.

Being #transandpregnant was something I was afraid of effecting my #prenatalcare but aside from my 1st visit w/ a #midwife the team I am working with has helped me feel nothing but excited to go to appointments & be bringing my little sprout into the world by my #23rdbirthday

I was raised with the falsehood that family is the most important thing, more important than feeling #safeandsecure That I should put up with #gaslighting simply because they're family But I refuse to put my baby in a situation that could make them feel how I was made to feel

Since becoming #pregnant the biggest thing for me is making the push to make hard decisions. Like deciding that keeping my kiddo away from a #toxicfamilymember is more important than huge family gatherings.

It’s very sad that most people still don’t understand the principle of prevention in public health even though we’ve been in a pandemic for 10 months. Success will always look like overreacting & acting early. This should’ve been drilled into public consciousness from the start.

There is a very simple branding reason why they call them “militias” instead of “terrorists...” because they already color branded “terrorists” post-9/11 and it would weaken the power of association between “terrorist” and “brown.”
