Vivek’s new voting age proposal is causing quite a stir. Good! Without debating all the finer points, our Founders believed voters should have skin in the game. If someone is going to decide the future of the country, they should have something to lose if the country declines, or they should have sacrificed on the country’s behalf. At a minimum, they should be able to pass a simple civics test. @charliekirk11 We draft 18-year-olds because they are physically fit & still young enough to to take orders—not because they research ballot issues well. A proposal that moves the US to mandatory public service for all young people is a bad proposal that limits our freedoms. Just raise the age.
