Seems like everyone has their time in this day trading industry, the furus are really being hit, karma is coming to each and everyone one of you, they claim transparency but never full transparent. Doyle Exchange has disappeared into his cave, after his disaster early this year. Lanto being next on the line, not really surprised, I just worry for the new kids that join this industry and have to burn their hands from furus. There really needs to be a legal system to stop this madness. I just recently had to look at someone marketing a product that was build by a sales guy, I found all the secrets in their js bundle file in chrome, I like the confidence Ai gives people. You guys think SWE wrote code? We always copy and pasted it anyway, code had been always cheap.

For sure, there are difficult and life threatening jobs out there. I am not comparing that, but saying SWE have had it cushy is just plain wrong. I still don’t know what it looks like to have the time hit 5pm and just chill. Not everyone works and FANG type of companies where you are treated like a baby, that’s not reality. Someone said unlimited pto? who ever had unlimited pto in their contracts knows exactly how unlimited that is and how it works.

I really never had the experience of hanging around my Slack channels and share memes all day (compared to roles, like cs/marketing), I have always worked +60h week doing coding, infra, support with no additional comp. This is still my case, yes Ai has made things a bit faster but also my CEOs requests have increased significantly. We have a team of ai sloppers who build these ai agents factory, they were supposed to bring things to prod in 1-2 week (that’s how they got hired) it’s been months and nothing has hit prod yet. Yes they are amazing for RnD and impress clients for demo, but that’s it. I am also not saying SWE is the most difficult job, but if we compare it to other butt seaters we bring a lot to the table. Let’s not forget how much tech is involved in other industries/fields, a butt seater worked on it.

@stevyhacker I have done the same recently, was using dark mode for the last 10 years, now I switch between when night/dark day/light but I have noticed I prefer light mode more, must be a sign of getting older lol.

@thekitze have been using mcp and cli apps with my harness a lot lately. It’s not for everyone but I don’t miss atlassian ui at all. Next in line is M365 (yucky) but for real don’t miss using a browser and a mouse at all.

@darrenjr We are not coding anymore, we are reviewing and orchestrating agents. A few more years and looking at code will be like when compilers got introduced, do you look at the code your compiler spits?

@cantucapital A class setups, 3 micros and be consistent, by being consistent I mean trade only those great setups, you don’t need to trade every day. Build some buffer and start rising a little more.
