looking at the post saying "actor A outshined zhang linghe in a drama aired in 2023" and a fans of that actor qrt to throw shade at Walnutz by saying, "# that fandom crying in qrt because they can’t handle the truth," I don't even feel mad. I can only feel pitiful. it's already 2026. and as long as I can remember, there has been at least one post like that being produced every year. while zhang linghe has move forward, gained more achievements, continues to improve, and becomes better every year, these people are still trapped in 2023 discourse, wandering around as if "outshining zhang linghe" in that drama, where the director-screenwriter clearly showed favoritism toward their fav's character design and story, is their only achievement for the past three years. zhang linghe has made many progress & breakthrough in 2023-2026. all he has now is gained step by step and not just "one-hit drama/character-then-gone" type. "but zhang linghe got better resources than my fav" will always be excuse they use afterwards. it's a public secret that gjm weakened zhang linghe's character and deleted his highlights. and this kind of treatment also happened in many of his next dramas. will someone called as "resourceful" would have his character nerfed, his highlights getting deleted and his screentime being cut repeatedly? many people think his resources are better because he keeps becoming more successful and still gaining the most attention even when his character got nerfed and screentime is butchered most of the time. and for the record, his first billing drama after achieving so many breakthrough was an A-level drama adapted from a micro-IP novel having only around 14K readers. it's not even a small IP. if it were others, big IPs and major productions would probably have landed in their hands after just one hit. it's not that his resources are simply better than everyone else's. it's about what he does with every opportunities he gets. he knows how to maximize every of it, even the tiniest one. he puts in the work, accept constructive criticism, stay eager to learn new things, and keep improving with every project. that's the part people deliberately leave out when they reduce the reason for his success as "better resources." there is a clear distinction between "have better resources" and "being able to maximize the opportunity given". anyway, zhang linghe was right for saying that the frightening thing is staying the same year after year without any progress. so to those still clinging to 2023 and treating it like their peak, good luck getting out of that 2023 prison😊
