Whenever I feel down, I think back to past victories—and especially to the day you put on that MAGA hat just to make us smile, even after so many loved ones were murdered for their politics in 2024 alone. Thank you again for helping keep the country from sliding into tyranny. It still means a great deal that ordinary people refused to hand over their rights—including the basic right of average citizens to keep their guns for self defense —and instead stood together. True patriots can set aside differences of opinion when they share a common enemy and clearly see what that enemy is trying to take away. I’m grateful you were part of that.

intouch.org/watch/sermons/… In his powerful sermon sequence "Conquering Faith," based on 1 Samuel 17, Dr. Charles Stanley uses the life of David to teach us how to develop a faith that triumphs over the giants in our lives. A central part of this strategy involves fighting the battle in our hearts and minds first by focusing on two critical disciplines: recalling past victories and examining our motivations. 1. Recalling Past Victories When David stood before King Saul volunteering to fight Goliath, Saul dismissed him as just a youth. David's faith did not waver because he chose to look backward at God's faithfulness rather than outward at the giant's size. He rehearsed how God had previously delivered him from the paw of the lion and the bear while he was tending sheep. The Principle: Recalling past victories strengthens your faith for your current crisis. If God was faithful to deliver you yesterday, He is fully capable of delivering you today. The Application: Dr. Stanley encourages believers to keep a physical record or journal of the Lord's work and answered prayers in their lives. When a modern-day "giant"—such as debt, sickness, or a broken relationship—threatens you, pull out that record and remind yourself of who God is and what He has already done. 2. Examining and Re-affirming Motivations Before confronting a major challenge, Dr. Stanley notes that we must examine why we are fighting. When David arrived at the battle lines, he wasn't motivated by the king's physical rewards or personal fame. He was moved by righteous indignation because Goliath was defying the armies of the living God and mocking Jehovah's name. The Principle: Conquering faith requires pure, God-honoring motivations. If your desire to overcome a challenge is rooted in pride, self-promotion, or greed, your foundation is unstable. The Application: Ask yourself, "Is my primary goal in this situation to bring glory to God, or am I seeking personal validation?" Full trust in God flows from a heart that is surrendered to His will, meaning the primary objective of your victory is to magnify His name. The Broader Strategy of Conquering Faith Beyond these two steps, Dr. Stanley outlines the remaining framework that allowed David to walk into the Valley of Elah with absolute assurance: Reject the discouraging words of others: David had to ignore the criticisms of his oldest brother, Eliab, and the doubts of King Saul. Recognize the true nature of the battle: David knew the conflict wasn't merely physical, but spiritual. He told Goliath, "The battle is the Lord's" (1 Samuel 17:47). Respond with a positive confession: David declared victory before the fight even started because his focus was entirely anchored on the power of Almighty God. To study this strategy further, you can listen to the full archival audio broadcasts through the In Touch Ministries Conquering Faith — Part 1 or watch the video resource via the In Touch Ministries Sermon Portal.

What concerns me is how many people called Christian leaders have set aside the biblical confession of Jesus and landed near the Islamic one. Baptist, Methodist, and Catholic teaching still affirms the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and that Jesus is fully God and fully man, not merely a prophet. Yet I have met pastors and priests in each of those traditions who no longer hold that. They speak of Jesus as a teacher or messenger and treat the person of the Holy Spirit as an impersonal force, or leave him out. That is much closer to the Qur’an’s Isa than to the New Testament’s Lord. Muslims honor Jesus as a prophet and messenger and reject both his deity and the Trinity. A church that does the same has already given up the gospel it claims to preach, and it has little spiritual authority left to offer anyone.

Mike + The Mechanics released their debut single "Silent Running" on this day in 1985. Watch as the band perform the song at Berlin Live, 2017.

Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground) (Official HD Music Video) by Mike & The Mechanics . @officialmatm Sometimes our intent for doing or writing something is different from God's intent in leading us to do or write it. Though the writers said the lyrics were written about a dystopian time travel, many have said that this song appears to be sung from the point of view from Heaven (that knows the future). That it appears to be about a man that has died and is trying to communicate to his loved ones left on Earth, urging them to prepare for impending societal collapse and to resist. "Believe in me, I'm with the high command" might refer to the fact that he's with God (the high command) in Heaven. (The writers clarified the song has no link to the 1972 Sci-fi movie Silent Running.)

Canada just criminalized reading the Bible. Now quoting Scripture on marriage, sin, or God’s design for sexuality can be prosecuted as “wilful promotion of hatred.” This is how the West falls.

Against All Odds - 2026 Iran Revolution Mix Edition (by Phil Collins) This Mix is my tribute to resilience and voices calling for change. @PahlaviReza It reminds me how your dad walked away 47 years ago hoping to stop bloodshed. Yet, for 47 years people have been praying for your family to come back to stop both bloodshed and government repression by people that violate human rights to maintain power. I think this song expresses how Aryan people and their allies feel about the return of you family to Iran @PahlaviReza @ShahbanouFarah @NoorPahlavi after 47 years of bondage. This song reminds me of how Iranians were showing the love of Jesus during the recent 2026 Iranian protests and massacre, where the previous tyrannical regime massacred many martyrs, but they were still being courageous and laying down their lives for their country hoping the people they left behind would see your family come back and MIGA. We collectively hope and pray Iran soon is better than it was before 1979. Disclaimer & Credits: Song & Music by Phil Collins | Background edited w/ permission | X posts as public collage. Two versions blended into one track, set against a new background featuring real Iran-related posts from X. Created with permission on the original videos. This Mix was done by me and is not a political endorsement by the singer Phil Collins. Two video clips were merged with x posts. In the start of the video @PhilCollinsFeed performs “Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)” in 1985 at Wembley Stadium as part of the Live Aid benefit concerts, which were held in London and Philadelphia, roughly 40 years ago today. The end of the video shows a more recent performance by Phil Collins during his " Not Dead Yet " tour.
