@karpathy And engineers that are the ones that have more adoption to this technology seems to be the most scared people about this 🤣
@dominik_schnaus So you are trainig without paring data generating paired synthetic embeddings to train projections.
@hardmaru So intelligence is more related to the number and quality of tokens you put in?
@Shay_Slay_ 30 years took to Java core developers to understand that we are lazy developers.
@MicrosoftLearn Software engineering in general. People thinks that everything is just ask to coding agent to do it. But coding agents does not apply correct engineering, this must be done by the user.
@GoogleAI -- ctxflow.sh team tested and ranked EmbeddingGemma2 to be used as embedding model for multimedia context retrival.
@Mehradity @dotpem Yes. But i think that is quite easy to add this task to a reranker. Is just add clasification. We are on it. 🤣
@CrazyShyyt Still has the cuadratic memory and compute issue. That forces to use high compute power. Is another innovation but didnt solves the market problem. Anyway is a nice archivement!
@pmddomingos Good point. Actually we are moving from fully harness modified to meet the company requirements and full automation to a more lightweight solution with cmd like simple hardness like PI. And our delivery rate has increased x5, we use less subagents and less tokens.
@bo_wangbo In our tests JEV is not a good reranker. It can extract from the result set some offtopic results but is not a good compared to LLM based rerankers, and they are also more cost-effective and efficient. I thing that this ones can be trained to get rid offtopics too.
@sundarpichai Tested ad ctflow.sh is a nice new embed model. Anyway not better than current ones on text to text retrival on our use cases but could help to make our pipeline easier with images. Also has some trubles with grafics and some pdf content.
@Vtrivedy10 Is nothing new. Matryoshka embeddings where already present 5 years ago on bge, nomic text, alibaba gte, mxbai, jina v2, voyage,... 🤣
@DeepLearningAI Cool but still unusable at production levels. We should find a way to manage tool calling with that models and input text to them and get an speech response. A good usecase is ask for something to search on internet then tool call then ingest results then generate speech.
@EmmaScharfmann We whwre testing EmbeddingGemma2 at ctxflow.sh and is so good. It simplifies our image processing pipelines alot while giving the same recall as other models. Is a nice step forward.
@UnslothAI We are testing it at ctxflow.sh looks good. Same performance as qwen or bge. Image support is good. Simplifies a bit or pipelines. But lack of pdf support. Anyway is a good step forward.
Tested EmbeddinGemma2 on ctxflow.sh as a primary model to perform one of the internal RAG pipelines and results looks good. It doesn't change alot the recall but simplifies alot the pipeline and makes it easier work with images. We will work more on it for sure.
@b4dgerr I have a CS degree and 20 years of experience. And IA writes worse code than me. Less redeable, bigger and more complex. And is that a problem? Is faster and it works so I can do more. Just complexity control and patience.
