@civcatt_en @DawnofMercy @TheAnchoress @KofC I love reading Mary Oliver. It is like a walk in the woods, without leaving your chair.

Pope Francis calls for a 'return to worship. May worship be central for those of us who are pastors,' for every diocese, parish & community. Only in this way will we turn to Jesus & not to ourselves. Only in his presence will we be purified, transformed & renewed.

@ctrlamb Well perhaps the Holy Father read, and I am sure he has, the Book of Jude, and probably Corinthians. The word of God. At least that's what Christ's Church teaches me.

@TGrudi Everyone YES! But, Christ was clear that His forgiveness is not a license to continue in our sins. A cursory understanding of the poor woman caught in adultery tells one as much. The Bishop is correct. It is tge Church that should influence the culture, not the other way round.

@Chris_SmithsJ And how does she know all this? Yep, lady, God forbid seminarians shoe reverence, praise, and sacrifice for our Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture is pretty clear on speaking ill of one's brothers and sisters.

@americamag The Church is growing in Africa and Asia & has the greatest Faith participation. Therefore, the West, with declining & low Faith practice will try to dominate the Synod. The West's last gasp. Western culture mores should not be imposed on poorer, developing, and growing nations.

@americamag There are many faithful Catholics in pews, the silent ones, those who have a strong faith and prayer life. Yes, they get ignored by both secular and religious alike. But Christ knows them. They will carry-on, synod or no synod.

@ThomasReeseSJ Nor is it a reason there is a shortage of priests.

@SrMaureenOP Probably not. Sadly, too many Catholics of all stripes have an opinion and take that personal view as gospel. This conflict within the Church must sadden our Lord.

@DawnofMercy @Where_Peter_is I wonder how much of this, on both sides, is driven by politics and secular world view? We no longer talk to one and other, and certainly do not listen. Our Lady of Sorrows pray for Christ's Church.

@americamag @DawnofMercy Many people identify as Catholics, but are just cultural Catholics who do not practice the Faith. If someone does practice and does not understand the Holy Eucharist, whose fault is that? Jesus said feed my sheep, not inculturate them.

@CatholicNewsSvc @DawnofMercy Amen. We need more forgiveness between Catholics. How we talk about one and other scandalizes the sacrifice of Christ who out of love gave the world the ultimate in forgiveness. We must pray daily for peace among Catholics.

@maureendowd Can someone in the media acknowlege that Biden has cognative issues? If one has ever cared for a family member with dementia or Alzheimers it is not hard to see that Joe Biden exhibits behaviors seen in the decline of brain function. Despite it being a long day and he was tired.

"I want to meet the Pope. He's the representative of Jesus in the world." It's reported that China forbid its Catholic bishops and faithful from attending Pope 's visit to Mongolia... and many of the Chinese Catholics we met today were covering their faces in fear. But one young man was willing to speak on camera if I asked a few simple questions about why he came to Mongolia.. despite the risks. #PopeInMongolia

@cwwhiteNCR @NCRonline @DawnofMercy Thank you Holy Father. This should put a lid on misinterpretation by both the Left and Right in Catholicism. And, will not be a catalyst to attack fellow Catholics.
