The Nigerian Progress Report @ObserverAgba

@charlesaniagolu This one stood out. That’s a serious allegation coming from an APC insider. If true, someone is selling public appointments. If not, he needs to clarify. Public office shouldn’t be treated like a business investment. What’s your take?

@mundus01 @inecnigeria @inecnigeria @sowore @ruffydfire

Am I overthinking this? Because I am genuinely struggling to understand what is happening in Nigeria. @inecnigeria has disregarded the Electoral Act by failing to publish the voters’ register online for public scrutiny, even after the statutory 90-day deadline has passed. Even under Mahmood Yakubu, the register was published online, with a mechanism for complaints and objections. Today, NOTHING! And somehow, the country has moved on like nothing happened. WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE? Apart from @ARISEtv and @fijnigeria, where is the Nigerian media? Where are @YIAGA, @EUinNigeria @EU_SDGN , @NDI and the other civil society organisations? @NigeriaNDCHQ .@ADCNig ARE YOU PEOPLE SLEEPING? Are you actually preparing for this election? This is the voters’ register we are talking about. THE VERY FOUNDATION OF AN ELECTION! INEC has effectively said, “To hell with public scrutiny. Do your worst.” And our collective response is SILENCE. I am genuinely pained. We complain about electoral malpractice and compromised institutions, yet when it is time to demand accountability BEFORE an election, everybody suddenly goes quiet. Must we wait until votes are cast and results are disputed before we start shouting? Seriously, am I the only one who finds this silence deeply disturbing?

@instablog9ja So the argument is that because Buhari couldn’t solve insecurity, we should lower the standard for Tinubu? What if the better question is whether the person currently occupying the seat has the capacity to deliver—and if not, whether he should make way for someone who can?

@RenegadeKnight7 @DOlusegun Perhaps d reason many Nigerians pay little attention to announcements like this is d disconnect between high-level engagements & their daily realities. D real question is:how do these diplomatic & budgetary decisions translate into better living conditions for ordinary citizens?

@channelstv With Nigerians grappling with rising living costs, ₦250 billion per state is too significant a figure to leave unexamined.Can an independent investigation establish d facts, clarify where d funds stand, & determine who is accountable?Nigerians deserve answers backed by evidence.

@UchePOkoye Interesting report if it holds. A united opposition would certainly change the 2027 equation. Do you see an Atiku step-down for an Obi-led ticket as realistic, or is this still more hope than fact at this stage?

@SadiqMaunde Interesting report if it holds. A united opposition would certainly change the 2027 equation. Do you see an Atiku step-down for an Obi-led ticket as realistic, or is this still more hope than fact at this stage?

@NigAffairs @woye1 Showunmi's reaction is understandable, & his wife’s long INEC career is a fair point.Still, the question reflects real public sensitivity about perceived conflicts when political actors’ relatives hold key electoral roles.But should these connections invite scrutiny?

@SadiqMaunde Interesting. Focusing resources on states seen as decisive is a common electoral strategy, but it also raises a fair question: how do voters in the other states interpret being left out of the itinerary? Curious to hear what others think, does it risk sending thewrongs signal?

@ARISEtv Accusations like this highlight how deeply economic hardship is felt right now.The real question is whether current policies are delivering measurable relief for ordinary Nigerians, or if political calculations are taking priority. How do Nigerians see it?

@ARISEtv Both points matter.Large reserves have an opportunity cost, but running them too low also carries risks.The real issue is transparency — clear benchmarks and regular public disclosures so Nigerians can judge the trade-offs properly.What’s the right balance?

@ayemojubar A 25% tax claim is serious.If this has truly been approved and is only being delayed because of elections, then Nigerians deserve full clarity now — not after votes have been cast.Has the government confirmed or denied this?What’s your take?

@aonanuga1956 Interesting redefinition. Turning an opponent’s insult into a positive acronym is classic political branding. Does this kind of reframing actually shift undecided voters, or does it mainly energize the already-convinced base?
