🧵 #SfN23 Poster alert🚨: We've been diving deep into the mysteries of neurodevelopment and serotonin with multiphoton imaging and “shedding light” 🔦 on how early-life disruptions in the serotonin transporter impact the maturation of excitatory and inhibitory cortical circuitry.
🐭 Using chronic two-photon microscopy of calcium and serotonin fluorescent indicators on developing mice, we show how early interference of this transporter leads to cascading changes in cortical circuitry, with key implications for neurodevelopmental disorders.
