@butterfaegarden If you don't want to cold approach than be part of a community or group. It's not a cold approach if you've been going to the same place and seeing each other over time. Just warm approach bro
@RuiCarrilho5 The moat is turning the digital into physical. And China is well positioned with the capital plus manufacturing capability to make that happen.
Translation: our gross margins are getting competed down to 0 by open source models and our capex burn rate is too high.
Let’s maintain our margins with regulatory capture, ban open source models, and slow down the capex arms race. All with a virtue signaling cherry on top.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our

Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing, Chengdu in that order
Any recommendations of places to see or things to do?
@GPrime85 Much respect to your craft but I think most gen AI creators define themselves in a different category of their own. They never were going to be a trad artist and have no aspiration for that craft, just storytelling.

whatever field you’re in, start moving closer to hardware.
not because software is dying. because software is becoming abundant.
ai can already generate code, interfaces, analysis, content, workflows.
but atoms are still stubborn.
• ai → learn chips, accelerators, edge compute
• software → learn embedded systems, electronics, networking
• biology → learn instrumentation, sensors, lab automation
• physics → learn robotics, semiconductors, energy systems
• design → learn cad, materials, manufacturing
• economics → study factories, energy, logistics, supply chains
the closer you move toward physical reality, the harder the problems become.
heat. power. materials. tolerances. reliability. manufacturing. logistics.
you don’t need to abandon your field.
combine it with hardware.
• software + hardware.
• ai + robotics.
• biology + machines.
• physics + manufacturing.
the next generation of builders won’t just manipulate information.
they’ll use information to manipulate atoms.
