A homeless man sleeping on a warm air vent at Queen and Bay, Toronto. I carry wool, socks and emergency blankets for those who need them. I asked him what he needed, and I gave him an emergency blanket. April 2018
*wool socks, not "wool, socks." Anyhow, I've long made the effort to ask people's names and what they need before anything else. I've bought coffee, sandwiches, cigarettes, etc. Since so many people asked for socks or blankets I started carrying several with me on walks.
@OhHowByronic Think he is still around?
@OhHowByronic That was kind of you. I'm glad you had something to give him.
@OhHowByronic I’m starting to think you’re not that grumpy 🤔
@OhHowByronic I buy wool blankets from thrift shops in Toronto, keep them in my car trunk, & ask people I see who I think could benefit from them if they'd accept one. They've always said yes. Wool blankets are so good. I also distribute emergency blankets, as they keep the rain & wind out.
