I want to explain where things stand with my legal fund and say an enormous thank you to everyone who has donated, shared it or sent me a message of support. Your generosity took me beyond the original £10,000 target. I know that is money you could have spent on yourselves and your families, and I don't take it lightly. Correction: An earlier version of this fundraiser described the claimant as female. I relied on online reporting across three publications, but I have since been unable to substantiate that description. I have removed and withdraw it, and I apologise for presenting it as an established fact. I also want to be clear about the legal costs and what I am doing with the money people have trusted me with. I have been given an estimate of £35,000–£40,000 plus VAT for full representation through the preliminary hearing on meaning. That is the hearing at which a judge would decide what an ordinary reasonable viewer would have understood my words to mean in their context. It is not an estimate for defending the whole case through a full trial. I have decided not to commit to that full-representation option at this stage. I am trying to think outside the box about how to get the most useful help for the money available. That means exploring less expensive representation, paying for specialist advice on particular issues, doing more of the preparation myself and, if necessary, appearing in court as a litigant in person. I really don't want to be asking anybody for money in the first place. I certainly don't want to spend tens of thousands of pounds simply because that is what I have been quoted. Raising money does not mean I should automatically spend every penny of it. I want to agree specific pieces of work and clear budgets, and only commit to work I have the funds to pay for. I would much rather not be doing any of this. I ensured that the original video was removed from public view and offered a public apology and clarification concerning the disputed implication. I hoped the matter could be resolved. Had an agreed apology brought this to an end, I would not now be asking you to help fund a legal defence. Instead, I am defending a High Court claim seeking up to £65,000 in damages, as well as legal costs. That is what is being claimed, not an amount a court has awarded. I dispute the meaning attributed to my words, and I need proper advice about how best to defend that position. The original £10,000 target was to help me obtain that initial specialist advice and understand what I was facing. I am continuing to raise funds because there is more work ahead, but I want you to understand that I have not simply decided to spend £40,000 on the first hearing. I am looking carefully at the alternatives and how much of the work I can reasonably do myself. If I cannot raise enough for representation, I am prepared to attend the High Court as a litigant in person. I understand that I could lose and that there are risks involving both damages and costs. That is precisely why good advice matters, even if I cannot afford a lawyer to do everything for me. I don't want a legal fight. I would never ask you for money so that I could go looking for somebody to sue. But there is a difference between seeking litigation and having to defend yourself when proceedings are brought against you. I want to make sensible decisions, not be forced into them because I cannot afford to understand my options. My campaigning for women, children and free speech matters enormously to me. I would rather be spending my time on that work. I believe we must be able to challenge institutions and speak about matters of public importance, and that obtaining advice and defending disputed speech should not be something only wealthy people can afford. So yes, I still need help. But I also want you to know that I am questioning the costs, looking for other ways of doing things and treating the money you have given me as a responsibility, not an invitation to spend. I will keep you updated as I establish what each stage requires and what I can realistically afford. Thank you for giving me the chance to make these decisions with proper advice rather than entirely alone. For years I have asked women to speak. Whilst waiting for footage, here’s text from tonight’s speech in front of Number 10. “We are here, not just to deliver a message to this pathetic government, with it’s leadership and policies nobody in this country voted for, we are here to deliver a message to the people of this great country. Please look at what these shameful pissants of history across the road have done today. Look at their betrayal of an ally, of the only democratic ally in the region, of the only Western liberal ally in the region, an ally on the front line against Islamic extremism. Please look at how this plays to our enemies, how gleeful Russia, China and Qatar must be. Please look at how a boycott of goods from Judea and Samaria which will achieve nothing. It won’t bring about peace. It won’t do anything for the thousands of Palestinians who work in these businesses and whose jobs are under threat. It certainly won’t bring a two state solution closer, if anything it pushes it further away. Burnham is showing allies we can’t be trusted, he is making the people of the UK less safe as he jeopardises the intelligence we get from Israel preventing terrorism on UK soil, jeopardising billions in direct trade, tens of billions more if America steps in, jeopardising Israeli weapons support and innovation at a time when Russia is breathing down our necks, jeopardising our very health risking Israeli drug subscriptions but also Israeli treatments for Parkinsons, cancer, multiple sclerosis. But even worse than all of that, what you really have to look at, is WHY he is doing it, because what this means for our country’s future is terrifying. This is no moral crusade for peace, this a crusade for votes from the far-left and Muslims. And if this government are willing to betray an ally, and betray its own citizens to win a by-election, what betrayals do you think they will they commit to win a general election? What British values will they betray? Will they bring in sharia law, blasphemy laws? Free speech is already on life support. A pro-surrogacy petition gathered more than 113,000 signatures, demanding that intended parents be recognised as the legal parents of a child from birth. That forced a debate in Parliament. And instead of the easy victory the surrogacy lobby might have expected… there was real pushback. MP after MP stood up to defend the rights of women and children, the legal status of the mother who gives birth, and the safeguards the petition wanted removed. One Labour MP even openly called for a total ban on surrogacy! And the Government? No new surrogacy bill. No immediate liberalisation. This is not abolition, not yet, but this is important. Because once again we are being shown that the expansion of surrogacy is NOT inevitable. There is resistance and it is growing. 🇬🇧🔥
