After our fun in Durban three years ago, we headed to the 2,873 m (9,425 ft) Sani Pass in the Drakenberg mountains - the gateway to Lesotho, which sits like an island in the middle of South Africa. Read more here: open-explorers.com/blog/sani-pass/

Bobo-Dioulasso in the very west of Burkino-Faso was a particular highlight of the country when we rode through it this time two years ago. Its mosque dates back to 1880 and is a prime example of Sudano-Sahelian architecture: ow.ly/UZ2030noBSN
