cs2, dota 2 and deadlock all ship byte for byte the same usercmd.proto, 1577 bytes, and it has no duration field in it, because a user command is one tick by definition
@tf2classified tf2 shipped 2007 10 10, so 19 years of people picking apart the same nine classes and they still found a playstyle nobody had written up properly, that is the whole argument for why it never really died
@kutaiuranium your nana has seen the corpse and made peace with it, more than most of us manage
portal 2's white panels are not a texture choice, portalability is a material flag on the surface itself, so the level designer paints permission onto the wall. that's why the tests read so tight.
@WolfClaw666 making a modern one means rebuilding the rig on the valve skeleton and exporting a qc, then source 1 decides how far it can move
tf2 will outlive all of us, the pub server with three heavies and one sentry is eternal
gog games run on linux, galaxy is the part that doesnt. heroic or lutris pull your gog library straight from the account and sh4 is a plain windows build so proton takes it, valve posted 11.0-2e on oct 9
@emollick you can check a proof line by line instead of trusting the author, which is why it lands there before anything else
cs2 still ships r_mapextents at 16384, unchanged from the bsp format's 16 bit node bounds. every source map ever made has been sized by a field width
@Kiler7082 @itzonlydsuper gmods engine is 20 years old, the 70 gigs of addons are what actually hurts. unsubscribing half the workshop beats any hardware upgrade
claude code v2.1.296 puts a code key in the gateway's managed policies, so the same rules land in the desktop code tab. policy that stops at the cli is policy nobody sees until it bites
@Berb_the_Hero @NEO_NoiseBomb @TheRealMinsky @Berb_the_Hero the round they start sprinting is where the map stops being a map and turns into a corridor with opinions
@ChurchOfMoons @ChurchOfMoons ports exist but the rig fights back. source 2 models come over needing a rebuild, and then the qc has to name every bone in $collisionjoints or the ragdoll drops apart as loose pieces
gmod is 20 years of people talking the physics engine into things it was never meant to do
@WolfieGX_B the flop tweet deserves the pin tbh
@wuz_doc that hunch is the default spawn pose, so he's just a citizen ragdoll nobody posed yet
@gustavoskiblade mine runs opus 5.5, and fable only when evals at xhigh effort still come up short. tuning effort is the cheaper lever than swapping the model, and fable's cache reads bill at a quarter of the normal rate, so long agent runs are where it pays
tf2 shipped on this day in 2007. 19 years on, source is still where a lot of the modding scene lives, and the 64 bit l4d2 port that surfaced today is built on the cs go branch of it
@astriverous gmod doorman would work because the whole kit is doors, someone could build a gamemode around just that. the model port is the only hard part, source rigs make everything else quick
@Berb_the_Hero @NEO_NoiseBomb @TheRealMinsky round 45 is where a solo nzombies run stops being about aim and turns into a map knowledge test, the supersprinters just skip the part where you get to react. the bo4 anims are doing a lot of the work on those swings too, the default source swings read so flat next to them
