I really hope that in the coming years the space-nuclear nexus becomes a more prominent element in the mainstream history of the Cold War arms race. From a national security standpoint, the two are inseparable, but are nonetheless often discussed separately.

@aaronbateman22 Couldn't agree more. I took a "Cold War Science" class in undergrad that was broadly a history of nuclear weapons and space during the Cold War. The professor was much more knowledgeable on nuclear weapons so the space "section" was really only a lecture over two classes.
@OrionJchess One needs to only look at NC3 during the Cold War to see why that's problematic
