I asked ChatGPT, Claude and Google AI Mode 10 questions a patient might ask about dentists in Austin. Of the first 52 on Google Maps, they named 10. The other 42 never came up. Pitching a local business? Reply or DM me its site and I'll send back who gets named instead.

@seo_bint_ejamil bint On #1: comparison questions get answered from comparison pages. In one 30-question Austin home-services report, Angi was cited on 28 of the 30, and all three engines cited it. A #1 page about yourself isn't a comparison.

@codyschneider cody Agree on the indexes. What changes is the query: you rank for the search the engine writes, not the question the buyer typed. On 5 of 9 questions buyers ask about tools like ours, ChatGPT's own searches asked for "official" pages.

@lilyraynyc lily We checked this on answers we'd stored for 27 sites: 296 pairs, each the same question asked twice to the same engine. On average the two answers shared 42% of the sites they cited. 6% cited exactly the same set. On Gemini, not one pair did.

Request indexing fixes 2 of the 16 reasons Search Console gives for leaving a page out: the two where Google hasn't read it yet. Most of the rest need a change first. Google doesn't publish the daily cap. On our site it took 11 requests in about 16 hours and refused the 12th.

I build an AI visibility tool, so I asked ChatGPT, Claude and Google’s AI Mode which one to use. 27 answers. Mine was in none of them. AI Mode cited one Zapier roundup on 7 of 9 questions. ChatGPT looked for “official” pages and G2. Now testing whether a post can change that.

To prove a fix moved AI answers, you need the day it went live. I'd built a "mark as done" button for that. A commenter on Indie Hackers: people click it while the old page is still cached, or when they mean "tonight". "The date should come from the page, not from the person."

I asked ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini 30 questions my buyers ask. Passcite came up on 9. All 9 had "Passcite" in the question. That's being told, not being found. The other 21: zero. First fix: a Capterra profile, cited on 16 of 30. Then the same 30 again, posted either way.
