What makes it grave is the fact that we hold priests to higher standards than teachers and protestant ministers. The “conspiracy” was by anti-catholics.

It is absolutely insulting to the thief on the cross to claim that he’s an example of “faith alone” because it dismisses that he went WAY beyond that when he: • admonished the evil thief • defended Jesus • confessed his guilt • accepted his punishment • suffered temporally • turned to Jesus • & asked Jesus to remember him That is NOT Evangelicals’ “faith alone”. 🧵

The amount of people claiming they will NOT have to be sanctified and detached from sin before entering heaven because Jesus said, “It is finished,” on the cross is WILD. “It is finished” meant the Passover was fulfilled, with Jesus being the sacrificial Passover Lamb. It does NOT mean we are free to sin and have zero consequences from those sins. Jesus took care of the eternal consequences; this doesn’t mean you won’t suffer because of your sin. Want a test? Commit a crime, and when you’re arrested, tell the judge you don’t need to be punished because Jesus said, “It is finished.”
