All Structured boarding is full for 2021.
Just want to reiterate that we will not be taking in any dog for structured boarding until COVIC is over. Thank you.
Due to COVIC, we will be conducting all our consultation virtually. Thank you.
If you want a reliable dog in the real world, please train your dog in the real world around real distractions — which includes correcting your dog whenever he breaks commands in the real world.
l want to make sure l can continue to follow up and help my clients during the COVIC restriction orders. I am offering all clients with unlimited Facetime/zoom/Skype private virtual session at no charge. Please text or email me to book an appointment. Thank you.
In order to follow the new guideline from BC Health, we will be conducting our consultation entirely outdoor until further notice. Mask wearing, social distancing and thermal scanning will still be implemented. Thank you.
If you don’t know whether you should do something with your dog, ask yourself: —Will this help my dog to find me as the most relevant and interesting person in the universe? —Will this help my dog to learn how to think and develop better impulse control?
Update from a client who met the same vet who was going to euthanize the dog before they came for rehabilitation.
You need a dog who will pay attention to you in your house before you can have a dog who will listen to you outside of your house. How much time do you spend in training your dog inside?
A well socialized dog knows how to watch the world go by and remain centered, like a boulder in the middle of a fast flowing river — no matter how much noises and splashes the water may make, the boulder remains solid and unmoved.
When you feel anxious around your dog, work on increasing the control you can have in those situations. That is what training can give you. When you have more control, you will have more confidence — and the anxiety will go away.
Disengage in distractions and engage in the human.
Work on how you conduct yourself in front of your dog can really help your dog to know how to better conduct himself around you.
Obedience training is teaching a dog to do what you ask; behaviour training is teaching a dog to do the right thing on his/her own.
This is the air purifier we use in the client meeting room and the dogs’ room. It features an industrial grade HEPA, a chemical filter that was designed for decontamination in chemical warfare, and two UVC germicidal lights to keep the air as clean and germ free as possible.
Feedback from Niko’s owner. So proud of them!!!
Very important part of socialization: learning how to relax next to other dogs without aggression or obsession.
As our society starts to open up, we will continue to implement impeccable hygiene to maintain the very high sanitation standard we are always known for. We have been very busy during this pandemic and it has been a great privilege to serve all of you. Thank you so much.
Aggressive/reactive/anxious learning how to chill next to other dogs.
In order to 100% advocate for our clients, other than wiping and spraying disinfectant frequently, we also apply UVC light and ozone for 60 mins after each and every meeting to ensure the highest level of sanitation in our facility.
