Most fielders do it anyway, but extra smart by @SRazaB24 to pick the striker's end for the final ball runout to beat Pakistan. Wasim had left the non-striker's end before Evans leaped into his delivery stride, huge start. Raza's best option for a runout was always striker's end.
Just imagine though if Pakistan had completed the second run to force a super over knowing Zimbabwe had a chance to nip that run in the bud (or at least force a different runner to come to the non striker's end with 8 wickets down) before it started.
@PeterDellaPenna @SRazaB24 Peter, I can’t quite tell from your photo. Where is Evans’ rear foot in relation to return crease? Looks very close to a no-ball to me. But, I can’t be sure either way. Looks from your still close enough for third ump to check? #PAKvsZIM
@PeterDellaPenna @SRazaB24 Incredibly close to a no-ball! Look at his back leg
@PeterDellaPenna @SRazaB24 I would rather say Wasim played smart here. Had Wasim got run out, there were still 2 wickets left. It was up to Zimbabwe whether to run him out at non-striker's end or not. To not let non-striker this advantage, ball should be considered valid & no run offered to batting side.
@PeterDellaPenna @SRazaB24 This rule should be changed. Either you can't run until the ball has left the bowlers hands, or it needs to be acceptable to complete a run out in this situation. We can't have it both ways with this as acceptable but then believe it is somehow immoral to attempt a run out.
@PeterDellaPenna @SRazaB24 why has this not exploded ?? This is the thing that literally is against the spirit of the game. Taking unfair advantage knowing that even few inches can matter in the run out. How shameful !!
@PeterDellaPenna @SRazaB24 Kudarat ka karishma bhi dekho bhai Galat Hamesha Galat hi hota hey. Har gaya Pakistan Sirf ek Run se.
