A book more than a decade in the making. Must-read for anyone interested in pro wrestling history. Londos is one of the greatest stars in the history of the business and definitely has a story worth telling. And I can't think of a better guy to tell that story than Steve Johnson.

Random fact: @EBischoff was not the first Eric Bischoff (or Erich Bischof as it were) in pro wrestling. In the pre-WWI years there was a German wrestler by the same name. In the photo: advert from 1909 for a "Championship of Europe" tournament in Greco-Roman pro wrestling.
What was the first country where masked wrestlers became super common? The answer might surprise you and that answer is... Russia (from 1909 onward). Example from 1925. Poster for a 5-match card with 4 masked wrestlers on it. Victory Mask, White Mask, Radio Mask and Death Mask.
A new children's book is out today in Bulgaria: "The Bulgarian King Kong - The hands of steel and golden heart of Dan Koloff". Koloff was a huge pro wrestling star in Europe in the 1930s. This is the 7th book about him in the last 25 years alone. Talk about a lasting legacy!

Charles Rigoulot's crazy finishing move. Clip from January 10, 1938, match with Al Sparks. The Frenchman Rigoulot set several world records in weightlifting & also won gold at the 1924 Olympics. He then became a very popular pro wrestler. One-time European Heavyweight champion.

Actually the date on this should be 1915-16 and Lewis didn't win - he and manager Billy Sandow left the tourney before it was over because of $$$. But that kind of detail never bothered Sandow.

It's truly amazing stuff, definitely ahead of its time.
