OK City- 29th anniversary of the Alfred P. Murrah Fed Bldg bombing, deadliest act of homegrown terrorism in US history, 168 deaths & 680 injured. Anti-government extremist Timothy McVeigh was executed in 2001 & Terry Nicholson is serving life. The blast caused $652M in damage.
@PhilipCDube Philip was there ever a clear motive for McVeighs attack?
I remember I had just got in trouble at school. I was sent to the office. Although my school was approximately ten miles from ground zero the blast was extremely loud and the building vibrated. I thought the rapture had come. So, I started praying that I’d never get in trouble at school again. Dropped down to my knees. It was terrorizing I feel like we didn’t do anything at school for like two weeks. Too many us knew people who’d died or who were hurt. If you didn’t know someone who was hurt you had friend that had loved ones taken. It was horrible
@PhilipCDube Another "event" that seems like yesterday.
@PhilipCDube Good morning 🌄 🙏 ☺️ and good afternoon 😊. This post 📫 is the perfect reminder of my decision policy. There have been times ⏲️ 🙂 💔 in my life when I considered revenge for a perceived wrong against me. But if I took revenge I would be in prison or dead. I did nothing.
@PhilipCDube Thank you. I never have "anniverisitized" that terrible day in our history.
@PhilipCDube I remember. This is something no one should forget.
@PhilipCDube Good to get the financial cost in,what difference does that make when so many lost their lives?
@PhilipCDube I think even McVeigh was even surprised how much damage he did to the building with just a van full of fertilizer parked out front… amazing… wink wink
