I still haven't forgotten how a lot of y'all (including mutuals) treated me a couple years back when I talked about the importance of seeing black history in color and how it's regularly left B&W to make it seem older than it actually is. I see y'all.

@PhlashDark Why would ppl be mad at you for saying that??
@PhlashDark @Ash_and_Cinder Indeed, there are many pictures from the 60's in color (and many which have been colorized) but when it comes to the Civil Rights Movement, almost all of the ones that are usually presented to most people are in black and white, suggesting it was longer ago than it really was.
@PhlashDark Agreed. Also American history is not that long ago in general when compared to the history of... Almost everything lol.
@PhlashDark @Wildyena They show photos of ruby bridges in black and white as well and she is only in her late 60's like she is around the same age as my mother. They really be trying to make things seem like they were so long ago.
@PhlashDark Its easy to be friends with PoC when things are "peaceful". But once we start standing up for ourselves, the questions start coming out. "What's wrong with you guys? Why are you all causing a disruption? Why can't you follow rules?" When those same rules treat us like shit LOL
@PhlashDark I don't think I've ever even seen a color photo of Anne Frank before seeing this tweet
@PhlashDark It's wild to me how people don't seem to realize how recent it actually is, too.
@PhlashDark I’m gonna be honest, the first time I ever saw MLK Jr in color I was absolutely astonished and it kinda shattered my reality and put it back together.
@PhlashDark I still find it fucked up that history books purposefully show black and white photos of MLK. We're brainwashed at a young age.
